Therapeutic & Adaptive Riding
Veteran Strong USA’s Therapeutic & Adaptive Riding programs combine horsemanship with opportunities for personal growth, wellness, and connection. Through riding and guided equine experiences, participants can build confidence, resilience, independence, and a stronger partnership with their horse.

Therapeutic Horsemanship
Building Skills Beyond the Saddle
Therapeutic Horsemanship combines structured horsemanship instruction with personal growth and emotional wellness.
Participants develop practical horse-handling and riding skills while strengthening confidence, resilience, responsibility, and problem-solving abilities. Each interaction with the horse creates opportunities for self-reflection, learning, and personal achievement.
Our goal is to build both horsemanship skills and the life skills that support long-term growth and success.
Adaptive Riding
Creating Opportunities for Every Rider
Adaptive Riding provides individuals with physical, cognitive, emotional, or psychological challenges the opportunity to safely experience horseback riding.
With guidance from trained instructors and volunteers, participants can develop balance, coordination, focus, confidence, and independence while building a meaningful connection with their horse.
For many veterans and family members, adaptive riding can provide a renewed sense of accomplishment, possibility, and hope.

Trail Riding
Reconnect With Nature
Trail riding gives participants the opportunity to apply their horsemanship skills while experiencing the peace and beauty of the outdoors.
Time on the trail encourages relaxation, mindfulness, confidence, and connection while strengthening the partnership between horse and rider. For many veterans, the experience provides a peaceful space to step away from everyday stress and reconnect with themselves.
